Dear Health Care Provider:

I am writing to inform you that Sanofi Pasteur is experiencing a manufacturing delay with Pentacel^® (Diphtheria and Tetanus Toxoids and Acellular Pertussis Adsorbed, Inactivated Poliovirus and Haemophilus b Conjugate [Tetanus Toxoid Conjugate] Vaccine), and therefore will not be able to meet all Pentacel vaccine demand throughout the first half of 2016. In an effort to manage through this period, we are implementing customer level allocations for Pentacel vaccine. These allocations have been put in place to help manage our supply so that as many children as possible may continue to be immunized with a Pentacel vaccine schedule. To help offset the gap in Pentacel vaccine supply, we will continue to make DAPTACEL^® (Diphtheria and Tetanus Toxoids and Acellular Pertussis Vaccine Adsorbed), ActHIB^® (Haemophilus b Conjugate Vaccine [Tetanus Toxoid Conjugate]), and IPOL^® (Poliovirus Vaccine Inactivated) available so that you have our separately administered vaccines available to maintain your immunization schedule.

We recognize the challenges that you face when you are unable to get your vaccine of choice and the impact this has on your office’s immunization schedule. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working to get product to market as quickly as possible. We do not anticipate the Pentacel vaccine allocations being in place beyond the first half of 2016.
